Woman killed in freak accident
A Calexico woman is dead and a man seriously injured after a trailer being hauled by a pickup became unhinged and plowed into them from behind. The couple were walking along Cesar Chavez Boulevard and Fifth Street when the accident happened.
The woman was 54-years-old, and the man is in his 50’s, both Calexico residents. Police are investigating to see if vehicular manslaughter charges will be brought against the driver.
