Yuma Proving Ground invites local businesses for possible opportunities

Each year Yuma Proving Ground spends million of dollars on equipment, construction projects, and whatever needs to be done in order to sustain the Army’s mission. However, YPG is also known for writing and processing government contracts for goods and services throughout the whole year for their community.

During Tuesday’s forecast forum, representatives from YPG units spoke with local business owners about the exciting opportunities coming up in 2017 and 2018. Colonel Ross Poppenberger says this event happens twice a year, but the opportunities for business within the government seem endless.

” Historically we do it about two times a year depending on the interest in the community and depending what kind of requirements we have come down the pike. Essentially if I’m a small business or a large business from Maine, I could’ve seen this and decided what kind of opportunity and see what Yuma is looking for”
