Operation Drive Safe: Avenue B

Yuma’s Avenue B is one of the city’s busiest roadways; a large portion of the roadway is designated as Highway 95. With the speed limit set as 45 mph many drivers tend to exceed the speed limit. The Yuma Police Department is launching their weekly campaign to address the issue of speeding, red light running, turn signal violations and distracted drivers. Distracted drivers using mobile devices will be targeted and fined if caught.

So far this year Operation Drive Safe has netted 361 violators. The Yuma Police Department encourages all drivers to focus on the roadway, avoid using cell phones and to remember to follow all traffic laws.
