“Back to School Rodeo” gives students the tools to succeed the school year

“Back to School” season is right around the corner and the City of Yuma wants our students in the community to be saddled up with school gear.

This is the sixth year of the annual “Back to School Rodeo” at the Yuma Civic Center, where the city gives 1,000 backpacks to students filled with notebooks, pencils, and tools to succeed for the upcoming school year. Miriam Limon is coordinating this year’s rodeo and says, it also serves as a great way to get into contact with local organizations and agencies to see what services can help your family and what’s offered in the community.

The “Back to School Rodeo” starts at 8 am and ends at noon, but with a few local performances and free prizes to give away, you’re going to want to stay until the end.

“We have a really large raffle, we have tons of different prizes, including bikes, tablets, we have some tickets to give away for Six Flags, so we have a lot of really great prizes and it’s free to enter the raffle, everything we have at the Back to School Rodeo.”
