The latest report from the Labor Department shows that there are more than 5.7 million unfilled jobs in the U.S.. According to research from the Economic Policy Institute employers blame the shortage on what’s described as an unskilled work force. But, according to their latest survey another issue is, pay.
According to their information majority of the employers looking to fill positions do not pay enough to entice a would be employee. In some cases employers found that although their wages bring in workers the level of work exceeded the pay and in turn lost employers to higher paying jobs.
RSM a consulting firm also initiated a survey touching on salaries, according to their findings many companies are willing to pay more and train workers as opposed to hiring pre-trained people. Their survey also showed that man of the companies about 56% plan on following suit in the next six months.
