8-year-old Soccer Player aims for big goals

An 8-year-old soccer player from San Luis is grabbing the attention on and off the field.

In 3 years Adriel Casas is already making a name for himself in the soccer world, playing as the goalkeeper in local and international tournaments.

Adriel was recently recruited by the Elite U10 “Traviezos” FC Youth Soccer where the team qualified for the finals in both the under 10 and under 8 categories this year. Adriel has been competing in several competitions since the age of 5. He is ranked as one of the top young goalkeepers in the state of Arizona and recognized in the youth Mexican leagues.

His father, Horacio Casas, says it all started with Adriel getting out of the house and finding something to do.
“Honestly it was just for him to get out there, and be a little more active. He started playing, and he started loving it, and he just took it to a whole other level. We’re very glad we put him in soccer. He enjoys playing as goalkeeper, he likes other positions, but the love for the game is goalkeeper.” Casas is getting ready to compete in two upcoming tournaments, “The Copa de La Amistad” and one the most recognized tournaments in Mexico, “El Torneo de los Barrios”.
