Topic of the Day: Tucson Shooting Memorial at Standstill
13 On Your Side wants to know your thoughts:
For the past two months House Bill 2436 has been waiting for approval from the Arizona Senate; back in February the House voted to fund a memorial remembering the survivors and victims of the 2011 Tucson shooting.
With the session ending the Senate will not be hearing anymore bills and supporters of HB 2436 may need to find funding elsewhere. The memorial would pay tribute to the shooting victims and survivors of the 2011 shooting where a gunman attempted to assassinate U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords before opening fire on a crowd.
Eighteen people were wounded in the shooting; six of which died including a Federal Judge and a nine year old girl.

Should the state pay for a memorial for the victims of the Tucson shooting?
