Couple speaks out and apologizes to innocent driver following severe car accident
A couple involved in a severe crash in February is apologizing for their part in the accident.
Kimberly and Tony Maldonado were passengers in a 1995 Honda Accord that made a left-hand turn and was T-boned by a 2003 Kia Sorrento.
According to police, the driver of the Sorrento was a 26-year-old woman who was alone in the vehicle.
The driver of the Accord was found at fault for the accident, according to police.
“Our driver is at fault,” Kimberly Maldonado told News 11,” You know we understand it was an accident but we feel bad.”
Kimberly and Tony Maldonado say they want to take responsibility for their actions and reach out to the driver of the Kia Sorrento who was also injured.
“We just want to make sure she’s okay,” Tony Maldonado explained, “We just want to make sure that her side and her family are doing well.”

The Maldonados say they own the Honda Accord but their friend was the driver. They say she was not driving under the influence.
