Ambulance crew spots car on fire

Somerton Cocopah paramedics who were in an ambulance spotted a car on fire when they were on their way back from the hospital.

Officials say they ran across the car on Highway 95 and County 15 on Thursday shortly after 1:30 p.m.

Somerton Cocopah firefighters got there shortly after with a fire engine to put the fire out.

The driver, a 27-year-old man, was traveling alone and was able to get out of the car without injuries. Fire officials say the driver claims he pulled over when he noticed smoke coming from under the hood of the car.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the flames using water and foam.

No injuries were reported in the incident.
