USNS Yuma almost complete
Austal, a manufacturer of defense and commercial ships, has completed one of the last steps in handing over the USNS Yuma to the U.S. Navy.
Austal issued a press release Wednesday which stated that the ship recently completed the acceptance trials with a “clean sweep”.
The USNS Yuma is scheduled for delivery to the Navy later this spring making it the eighth ship manufactured by Austal.
The 338-feet ship is designed to carry out a variety of missions from special operations to medical support among other things, according to Austal officals.
