San Luis students receive iPads

More than 700 students at Cesar Chavez Elementary school received iPads Tuesday as part of the Apple Rollout program.

Students in kindergarten through grade six received an iPad through a partnership with Connect Ed Apple and AT&T. This is part of the White House’s ConnectED initiative that works to give students technology to help them learn in and out of the classroom.

The tablets were given out during an assembly and both teachers and students were excited. Apple employees were there to help students get familiar with the new devices. Apple and other companies are supporting this initiative by providing grants to more than 100 schools.
