The FDA pushes to ban menthol cigarettes

(KYMA, KECY/ CBS) - The Food and Drug Administration said that banning menthol cigarettes will saves lives.

The FDA said it will continue trying to ban mint flavored tobacco by putting a halt to sales.

Menthol is the only flavored cigarette that is still available in the U.S and is said to be that the minty flavor makes it easier to become addicted to and harder to quit.

Health advocates say that this ban is long overdue.
