Arizona lawmaker quits to focus on running for governor
Another lawmaker leaves office
PHOENIX, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY/AP) — Arizona Rep. Aaron Lieberman announced on Sept. 20 that he will be focus efforts on running for governor.
"It has been the honor of my life to represent the people of District 28," stated Lieberman in a press release.
"When I first ran in 2018, no one thought I had a chance of winning. But after knocking over 5,000 doors, and hearing from so many of my future constituents about how fed up they were with the constant fighting and the cuts to our schools, I knew I had a chance to win."
Lieberman was the a second-term lawmaker in one of the most competitive districts in Arizona, and wishes to make a change in the state.
"At every door that I knocked, I made the same promise: I’ll always put Arizona first over any partisan politics."
Along with a public press release, Lieberman has also posted a video announcing his resignation on his Twitter account.
