Seven people died in VA Walmart shooting
CHESAPEAKE, Virg. (NBC) - At least seven people have died following a shooting at a Virginia Walmart Tuesday.
Officials in Chesapeake say the suspect behind the mass shooting is also dead, and multiple victims suffered injuries.
"It's sad, you know we're a couple of days before the Thanksgiving holiday. I mean, anytime this is sad. It's just a bad time all around for everyone involved. Especially the victims. This is horrible," Chesapeake Police Department PIO Leo Kosinski spoke.
Those looking for information for a loved one who works or was at the store are to go to the Chesapeake Conference Center.
Walmart shared a statement Wednesday saying they are in shock "at this tragic event."
Not only that, they are "praying for those impacted, the community and [their] associates."
The company also stated that they are "working close with law enforcement" and that their focus is "supporting" their associates.
