Gang member arrested by U.S. Marshals in Quartzite for shooting rival gang member

QUARTZITE, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The U.S. Marshals Service took a man into custody who was wanted for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

19-year-old Alain Leyva-Milkens was arrested in Quartzite after he fled Washington state for gang violence. 

Officials say on January 28, the suspect shot at a rival gang member from his vehicle.

Leyva-Milkens, who is a 248 Boy gang member, fired several rounds from the roof of his vehicle using a handgun. 

Several local agencies including the La Paz County Sheriff’s Office and the Quartzsite Police Department assisted the U.S. Marshals to conduct surveillance at a house in quartzite where they believed he was hiding.
