Golden Globes dinner will be entirely plant-based
HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (KYMA/KSWT/KECY) - The 77th Golden Globe Awards are set to take place this Sunday at the famous Beverly Hilton Hotel. This year's Golden Globe's will feature something different: an entirely plant-based dinner.
The Hollywood Foreign Press, the organization behind the awards show, has decided to entirely remove meat from the dinner that will be served on Sunday night.
The executive chef behind the menu says that even though meat will not be served, luxury will not be scraped off the plate.
Guests on Sunday can expect to be served a vibrant chilled golden beet soup topped with shaved candy-striped beets and pistachios.
As for the main course, faux King oyster "scallops" made out of mushrooms and wild mushroom risotto.
To bring the dinner to an end with a sweet finish, an opera dome dessert will be served.
The decision was made in an effort to increase awareness of how food affects climate change, but also how small changes can lead to a greater impact.
The use of single-use plastics and water bottles will also be eliminated for this year's Golden Globes.
