17th annual Older Americans Month at Quechan Casino Resort

A time to celebrate the contributions seniors makes throughout the communities.

The Quechan tribe is honoring the local seniors at the 17th annual Quechan senior games.

This year’s theme is In the Spirit of Fun, Competition, & Pride in our Heritage.

Those who participated in the games say it’s a great time to see old friends and make new ones.

President Kennedy issued a formal proclamation to make the month of May a way to pay tribute to older citizens in the communities.

The event kicked off Wednesday at 9 a.m. with a free breakfast followed by games.

The winner of the games will be awarded Thursday, May 9 at 6 p.m. at the awards ceremony at The Quechan Casino Resort.
