Arrest warrant served after suspect tries to flee

A man wanted on a federal warrant from California is now behind bars after trying to flee, according to the U.S. Marshall’s Service.

Thirty-two-year-old Feliciano Cardenas, who was wanted for a probation violation, tried to flee from the U.S. Marshall’s Service, Border Patrol, and Yuma Police Department Wednesday afternoon, according to the U.S. Marshall’s Service.

The incident happened on Highway 95 near Somerton, authorities said. T he agencies were able to locate Cardenas with a canine dispatched by YPD.

Cardenas was transported to the hospital and later to the San Luis Regional Detention Center.

Cardenas was originally arrested for alien smuggling, according to the U.S. Marshall’s service.
