Motorcyclist suffers possible internal injuries after collision

A 33-year-old man was transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center after colliding with a vehicle in the intersection of Main Street and Cesar Chavez Street Thursday morning, according to the Somerton Cocopah Fire Department.

SCFD said personnel arrived at the scene and found a white Chevrolet sedan with moderate damage and a Yamaha motorcycle with massive damage.

The woman driving the Chevrolet sedan and her three children were all transported to YRMC and are in stable condition.

The impact ejected the motorcyclist, but due to his safety gear, his injuries were not that severe. However, he was taken to YRMC for evaluation and may have internal injuries.

This collision is under investigation.
