Dead man’s phone leads to girlfriend’s body in Arizona well
Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies say they have recovered the body of a woman from a 900-foot well in Goodyear.
They say the body of 37-year-old Carolyn Dahlgren was found Tuesday about 360 feet down in the well.
Sheriff’s officials say 45-year-old William “Bill” Cahill was found dead last Sunday in Rainbow Valley after apparently committing suicide by carbon dioxide poisoning.
Multiple videos were later found on Cahill’s cellphone that showed him stating that he fatally shot Dahlgren, who was his girlfriend.
Cahill claimed to have placed body in a well somewhere in the desert.
Sheriff’s investigators found the private well on Tuesday that had a concrete slab with a metal well shaft about 20 feet in diameter.
They say the case remains under investigation.
