Yuma Art Center hosts 4th annual Yuma Con event
On Saturday from 11 A.M. to 7 P.M., the Yuma Art Center hosted the fourth annual Yuma Con event at the Civic Center.
It was something like the inside of a story book.
People were dressed up as different characters from popular TV shows, movies, or books.
Ana Padilla, with the Yuma Art Center told me what her favorite part of the event has been so far.
“Working with the guests that we have is very interesting because you get to talk to them or email them or [talk] over the phone, and then you actually get to meet them in person and then it’s very fascinating to see what they do.”
Booths are set up with card games, fan gear and fan art available for purchase.
Table top games, video games, and panels are available for all attendees.
For many guests, this is not their first comic convention.
F rancisco Adavelis Frios and Adan Zavala are Cibola high school students who were at the event to support their school’s Anime club.
“This is my first time at the actual Yuma Con. I’ve been to the Yuma Con library, one but we are here representing our anime club from Cibola,” said Frios.
“My favorite part today is the cosplay, I mean they are amazing,” said Zavala.
