Motorcycle strikes donkey on Highway 95

A motorcycle struck a donkey on Highway 95 in the area of milepost 58, shortly after 7:23 p.m. on Wednesday, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

A 39-year-old man from Blythe, Calif. was driving northbound when he collided with the donkey.

DPS said they contacted the Yuma Proving Ground who then contacted Rural Metro and sent an ambulance out to the scene.

The motorcyclist was transported to a local area hospital where he was treated and released for minor injuries, according to DPS.

The status of the donkey is still unknown at this time.
