ECRMC acquires latest robotic surgical equipment
The El Centro Regional Medical Center has acquired the da Vinci Xi surgical system, the latest in robotic surgical equipment.
The new robotic system will be used for more complicated surgeries and will be less evasive. It will also allow surgeons to be more precise by extending their reach and increase their range of motion from any position.
One surgeon from the medical center said that physicians can now take care of more patients instead of assisting in surgery.
“We’re experiencing physician shortages. The physician can be seeing patients in their offices or in their clinics without having to waste time to come assist on a case,” said Dr. Elias Moukarzel, ECRMC’s chief of staff.
The new surgical system will also make surgeries less painful for patients and increase their recovery time.
