Hackers create fake Facebook profile for Yuma County Sheriff

YCSO urges public vigilance in the wake of the incident

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Yuma County Sheriff's Office (YCSO) warns the public to be vigilant about social media after someone impersonated Sheriff Leon Wilmot on Facebook.

YCSO posted this notice on Facebook Tuesday afternoon:

Deputies have reported the page. They urge the public to be very careful with their social media profiles. They advise people to never accept requests for money, enter contests or sweepstakes on social media, or click on links send from unfamiliar sources.
