Police say woman resists following warrant arrest

A 21-year-old woman is in custody after multiple police units respond to a suspicious suspect .

The incident happened shortly after 1:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. Police vehicles rushed to a residential alley near 1st street and 20th avenue in response to a warrant and felony arrest. According to the Yuma Police, the suspect Ruby Lopez, was stopped by an officer near her home. Officials say the exchange required backup after she resisted arrest and fought with police. More officers immediately arrived to assist the two officers on scene, where Lopez was then detained and arrested. After further investigation they found dangerous drugs on Lopez.
