PET TALK: Meet “Princess” and “Umbra”
In tonight’s edition of Pet Talk, we meet a tortoiseshell cat named Princess and a super loving pitbull mix named Umbra. Princess is a 6 to 7 year old tortoiseshell cat. She gives new meaning to the phrase “Tortiude.” For those that aren’t familiar with torties, they are predominately female, it being extremely rare to find a male tortoiseshell cat. They are known for their attitude and Princess is no exception. She is a striking cat, with beautiful markings. She was given up by her family due to not getting along with the other animals in the household. She is the type that needs to be the only animal in the home and while she does love to play, she would do best in a family with older children or be a great companion for a single individual. Next, we have the loving, Umbra. A brown and white pitbull terrier mix. She was a stray found wondering the streets of Yuma and is said to be about 2 years old. She’s very affectionate and would do best in a home with other laid back dogs. She tends to get frightened around high energy animals so its important she goes to a quiet home. She currently has a health disorder that is not fatal, but it’s something to watch out for. She has been at the shelter for over two months and would make an unbelievable companion for someone willing to take a chance on her. If you are interested in either Princess or Umbra, you can call the Humane Society of Yuma at (928) 782-1621. They are open Tuesday through Sunday.
