Teenager gets rescued from desert
A 17-year-old Guatemalan boy was rescued by U.S. Border Patrol agents from the desert.
Agents issued a press release, Thursday, which states the incident happened Wednesday evening, when they received a call about a boy who claimed to be lost in the desert.
Agents were dispatched to the area and were able to find him about an hour after the original call with GPS coordinates and his phone with the help of the California Highway Patrol.
The boy claimed to have crossed the border alone, according to the press release. Agents say he was found in good health and did not require medical assistance.
The boy will be processed for removal proceedings, according to agents.
