Yuma PD Gives Safety Tips for Trick or Treaters
Halloween is just around the corner and the Yuma Police Department wants to make sure your children are safe this year. Srgt. Lori Franklin says to make sure you stick to a neighborhood that you know. She suggest taking your children to trick or treat only to neighbors that you know and trust. If your new to the area or if you don’t feel comfortable going into a neighborhood there are a lot of different events going on all through out the weekend starting Saturday into Halloween night. Srgt Franklin also notes for residents to be sure to check you children’s candy. Make sure you pay attention and look through their bags. She also recommends chaperoning your children closely so you know where they are and whom they are interacting with at all times.
One of the event residents might enjoy this weekend is the Safe and Scary Trick or Treat event sponsored by YPD. It’s being held at Yuma Territorial Prison this Saturday from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
