Incoming changes to the Arizona MVD
Customers to get items through U.S. Mail
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KSWT, KECY) - Expect changes to the way you get license plates, registration tabs, and documents like vehicle titles.
Starting January 2020, the Arizona Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) will issue these items through U.S. Mail.
MVD says customers should make sure their address is current and complete in both MVD and postal records.
All registration documents, licence plate tabs, including those issued today at MVD self-service kiosks will be mailed.
When customers renew these items, their records are instantly updated, as well as proof of registration.
For customers getting licence plates, the temporary plate issued will have the same number as the permanent plate being mailed. The plate number will also appear in their portal.
Customers who purchase Off-Highway Vehicle decals the same day they plan to use them will not receive the decal at the office.
Instead, they should keep their receipt at all times as proof of purchase.
The Arizona MVD plans to integrate more electronic processes in the future.
MVD already allows a limited number of services which can be made entirely online through servicearizona.com.
