Rescuers save baby humpback whale

A rescue crew rushes in to save the day when a baby whale gets snared in a shark net.

Someone spotted the baby humpback struggling to free itself from a net off the coast of Queensland, Australia on Thursday.

The more the whale struggled, the more tangled it became.

A team from Queensland’s Fisheries Department got the call. Rescuers had to carefully cut the netting from around the little whale’s mouth and fins. The entire process took about three hours.

Once free, the baby humpback rejoined its mother, and the two swam away.
