Ducey announces barbers and salons to reopen May 8
Says future plans will "focus on economic resurgence for our state"
PHOENIX, (KYMA, KECY) - During a press conference Monday, Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey announced barbershops, salons, and restaurants are to resume business.
Ducey gave information on when these establishments can open, having already announced a partial reopening of the state.
Barbershops and salons are to reopen on May 8, while restaurant dine-in operations are set to return May 11.
Gov. Ducey also stated Arizona is, "headed in the right direction," saying the state is seeing a downward trend regarding coronavirus illnesses.
On April 29, Ducey declared Arizona's stay-at-home order will be extended to May 15.
A new normal
While restaurant dine-in services will be allowed to resume May 11, certain health protection guidelines will be put in place.
This includes limiting dining parties to no more than 10 people, reduced capacity, and a new health screening system for employees before their work shift.
As for salons and barbers, these establishments must provide face coverings for employees and visitors to wear.
An appointment-only basis is encouraged to manage occupancy levels and social distancing.
