NBC 11 Sports: Matador Baseball ascends to 15th in NJCAA standings

After sweeping Central Arizona College, AWC climbed the national rankings

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - Arizona Western Matadors Baseball climbed to 15th in the NJCAA rankings after sweeping Central Arizona College over the weekend.

Former Matador hooper Yaxel Lendeborg has led the Michigan Wolverines to the Final Four. With that, they are one win away from a National Championship berth.

On the other side of the bracket, Illinois and UConn will face-off for a spot in the National Championship.

Sticking on the court, ASU's new Head Coach Randy Bennett is having some health issues.
