Imperial County prepare for elections
IMPERIAL COUNTY, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - The Imperial County Election's Office says they have been busy all morning as people are try to cast their ballots before Election Day.
An El Centro resident, Jose Carrillo, shares that he's dropping off his ballot to avoid any potential issues on Election Day.
"It is very important because this is the only way to say something about what bothers me or what I want for the country...that's it," Carrillo added.
The Election's Office says they mailed out more than 90,000 ballots and are counting them, as of Monday.
"So far, we have received about 21,000 vote-by-mail ballots...that equals to 23% for the county, relatively low compared to other countries that we are hearing, but we were hoping that we are going to get a lot coming in [Monday], and we know we are going to be extremely busy [on Tuesday," said Linsey Dale, Registrar of Voters.
The Election's Office says no other issues have been presented so far, but they are working with law enforcement and the Imperial County Sheriff's Office (ICSO) just in case.
