Agents arrest man attempting to smuggle nearly $400K worth of illegal drugs

INDIO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - US Customs and Border Patrol says El Centro agents arrested a man who was attempting to smuggle illegal drugs through Interstate 10.

At about 3:20 p.m. on June 24, agents stopped a Hyundai Santa Fe on I-10 near Golf Center Parkway Exit.

According to a press release, gym bags and a plastic container were found inside the car that held meth plus fentanyl, both with an estimated combined total of nearly $400,000.
