Doctors say we should talk to ourselves
(KYMA, KECY/CNN) - What do you tell yourself when someone gives you a compliment?
Or when you make a mistake?
The way we talk to ourselves can make a big difference in growth and mental health.
A psychologist and professor at the university of Michigan says the inner voice is a multipurpose tool.
But can become harsh, self-critical and unhelpful.
He suggests that healthy self-talk is crucial to our growth by helping us focus our attention, rehearse for difficult situations, understand our lives better and shape our identity.
