CBS 13 Sports: AWC Volleyball achieves first ever undefeated regular season

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - The Lady Matadors swept the College of Southern Nevada 3-0 on Saturday, finishing with a perfect 25-0 record for the first undefeated regular season in program history. Led by head coach Lorayne Chandler, Arizona Western enters the Region I playoffs as the ACCAC champions and No. 1 seed, with postseason action beginning November 2 at home.

Meanwhile, former Matador Yaxel Lendeborg returned to Arizona as an NBA rookie with the Golden State Warriors, facing the Phoenix Suns in his third professional game. The 2026 NBA Draft's 11th overall pick and Arizona Western's all-time leading rebounder scored a team-high 26 points, but the shorthanded Warriors fell 131-122. Matadors head coach Kyle Isaacs praised Lendeborg's journey from working in a factory to reaching the NBA, saying it has been special to watch his success at the highest level.
