NBC 11 Sports: Rounding out spring sports honors on the diamond with Yuma Catholic and Antelope softball

YUMA, Ariz., (KYMA, KECY) - The last All-Region and All-Conference honors recognition lands on the softball fields of Yuma Catholic and Antelope with a rundown of their 2023 season accomplishments.

The Lady Shamrocks poured out many accolades after a run to the 3A state semifinals with a squad made up of freshman and sophomore - led by Region Defensive Player of the Year, Cherish Trujillo and head coach Jarred Lackey for reeling in the Region Coach of the Year.

Alyssa Soto also brought in All-Conference 2nd Team honors to bring some more recognition to the Lady Rocks.

In 1A softball, it was quite the year for Antelope who had its best season in win total (15) since 2016 - sporting eight Lady Rams making either the All-Region 1st or 2nd Teams. Yareli Manriquez, Marissa Carrillo, Jimena Arana and Alaina Jaime each topped the All-Region 1st Team list and were listed as Honorable Mentions at the All-Conference level.
