NBC 11 Sports: All-Region softball recognition kicks off, Arizona Western holds final day of summer camp

YUMA, Ariz., (KYMA, KECY) - The journey of All-Region honors recognition meets its next stop at 6A Desert Southwest softball - where Cibola and Gila Ridge reeled in a good chunk.

The Raiders claimed the most 1st Team honors, along with nabbing three of the top four overall honors in Coach of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year. Meanwhile, Gila Ridge got their representation thanks to Addison Duke being named the Region Player of the Year.

San Luis caught back up with a load of 2nd Team honors to even the playing field.

Plus, Thursday was the final day of the Arizona Western College summer basketball camp. Over 100 local kids showed up and worked hard all week, leaving with many valuable lessons and skills on and off the court.
