Hawks soar in 4-team meet

Gila Ridge track sweeps home meet

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Gila Ridge Hawks played host to a 4-team meet, featuring the San Pasqual Warriors, San Luis Sidewinders, and Kofa Kings.

Among some of the highlights of this meet, San Luis' Valerie Castillo finished 1st in the girl's long jump event, with her best distance of 15 feet and 4 inches.

On the boy's side, Gila Ridge's Katch Sulpizo took 1st in the long jump, with the clinching distance of 18 feet and 10 inches.

In the discus event, Kofa King Eddie Garcia scored a winning throw of 126.4.

The overall team finishes were identical on both the boy's and girl's sides; with Gila Ridge taking 1st, Kofa notching 2nd, San Luis 3rd, and San Pasqual rounding out the 4th spot.
