Honoring our Seniors: Gila Ridge Baseball’s Heath McLeod

With the COVID-19 pandemic putting a halt to spring sports, we at CBS 13 want to honor and celebrate our seniors who could not have one final season.
Today we are honor Gila ridge high school senior Heath McLeod.


McLeod has been on the Hawk's varsity squad for three years and was even an Arizona Republic player of the week nominee.
Head coach of the Gila Ridge Hawks baseball team, James Kuzniak shared his insight on McLeod with 13 sports.


“Heath was off to a great start of his senior season, he had a batting average of .538 and was establishing himself at the plate and in the field with his glove. . . I have no doubts he will be successful and I am proud to have coached this young man!”

McLeod has enlisted in the United States Air Force reserves and plans to continue his education while serving his country. His main goal is to be a fighter pilot.

  Heath, congrats on being a star-student athlete and we wish you nothing but the best and thank you for your service.
