Fran Drescher receives star on Hollywood Walk of Fame
LOS ANGELES (KYMA, NBC) - Actress Fran Drescher has been honored with the 2,822nd star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Tuesday for the Motion Pictures category.
Peter Marc Jacobson, co-creator and executive producer of "The Nanny," is serving as emcee with Natasha Lyonne, Renee Taylor and Lisa Ann Walters serving as guest speakers.
"The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is proud to welcome Fran Drescher to the Hollywood Walk of Fame," stated Ana Martinez, Walk of Fame producer. "Fran has not only brought laughter and joy to millions through her unforgettable work on screen, but she has also shown tremendous strength and dedication as a leader for her fellow performers."
"We are thrilled to honor her with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for both her artistic achievements and her tireless advocacy as SAG-AFTRA President," Martinez added.
Drescher is best known for her portrayal of Fran Fine in the TV series, "The Nanny," which she co-created and executive produced. She was nominated for two Golden Globes and two Emmy Awards.
She also appeared in films like "This is Spinal Tap" and co-starred with Robin Williams on two films, "Cadillac Man" and Francis Ford Coppola's "Jack."
Drescher also served as president of SAG-AFTRA from 2021 to 2025.
