Prosecution and defense deliver closing arguments in trial for man accused of killing Tupac Shakur

LAS VEGAS (CBS, KYMA) - Closing arguments were underway Monday morning at the trial of Duane "Keffe D" Davis in Las Vegas.

Davis is on trial for murder for allegedly orchestrating the 1996 drive-by shooting of rap icon Tupac Shakur.

Prosecutors claimed Davis planned the killing of Shakur following a fight between the rapper and Davis' nephew in the lobby of the MGM Grand Hotel.

Prosecutors highlighted that Davis admitted to taking part in Shakur's killing in his own words in both his memoir and interviews.

The defense claims it was embellishment and exaggerated, alleging that Davis wasn't even in Las Vegas when Shakur was killed.

The jury was expected to begin deliberations Monday afternoon.
