Sphere’s Exosphere illuminates Las Vegas for the Fourth of July

LAS VEGAS, Neva. (CBS, KYMA/KECY) - On Tuesday, Sphere illuminated its impactful exterior, the Exosphere, for the first time with a dazzling display to celebrate Independence Day, lighting up the Las Vegas skyline as fireworks exploded overhead.

A new global icon, Sphere stands 366 ft tall and spans 516 ft across, the largest spherical structure in the world. The Exosphere features 580,000 square feet of fully-programmable LED lighting, making it the largest LED screen on Earth.

This vivid canvas displays stunning and dynamic imagery unlike anything ever seen before, all at an unparalleled scale.

Sphere opens in Las Vegas on September 29, with the first of 25 sold-out performances by U2:UV Achtung Baby Live at Sphere. The Darren Aronofsky-directed Postcard from Earth, an original immersive production, is scheduled to premiere October 6.
