San Luis City offices to be closed for Miguel Gonzalez Day
Emergency, law enforcement services will remain available
SAN LUIS, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The City of San Luis will be closed on Monday, October 25, in observance of Miguel Gonzalez Day.
"I presented this idea in an effort to thank city staff for their dedicated work during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic," shares Mayor Gerardo Sanchez. "I received positive support from City Council and after the loss of one of our most hard-working employees, it's only appropriate to name this holiday after him to honor his memory.”
The following services will still be available:
- Police Department, in case of an emergency please dial 9-1-1. For non-emergency situations you may contact them at (928) 341-2420.
- Fire Department, in case of an emergency please dial 9-1-1.
City staff says the offices will resume regular business hours on Tuesday, October 26.
For Public Works Department emergency situations, please call the Police Department Communications Division at (928) 341-2420.
The City also confirms that residential trash collection will also change as a result of the holiday.
If a resident normally has their trash collected on Monday and Thursday, they can expect to have it picked up on Tuesday and Thursday. And if someone's trash is typically collected on Tuesday and Friday, it'll be switched to Tuesday and Friday.
Utility bills may also be paid online, with an automated service at (855) 314-2095 or with a live operator at (800) 720-6847. Money orders and checks can be dropped at the drop box located at outside City Hall or outside the Cesar Chavez Cultural Center.
