YCSO detention officer behind bars for DUI
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KSWT, FOX 9) - A detention officer is behind bars serving his sentence for driving under the influence in 2019.
News 11 found out about the news when his mug shot appeared on the Yuma County Sheriff's Office (YCSO) inmate inquiry.
Court records show Alfredo Juarez was cited in January 2019 for driving with a blood-alcohol level of .08 percent or more.
YSCO said the incident happened on Avenue E and County 9th Street.
Juarez is still employed with YCSO, according to Lt. Samuel Pavlak.
His last-known rank with YCSO was Sergeant. In October 2017, Juarez was awarded the Detention Supervisor of the Quarter.
At this time it is uncertain what rank he holds at YCSO.
Juarez will be released from custody Monday evening. He was only sentenced to a 24-hour sentence, according to YCSO.
As far as disciplinary actions, YCSO said it has no comment and cannot release any information on that.
