Senator Sinema discusses tourism industry
Arizona Senator Kyrsten Sinema met with Arizona tourism leaders today to discuss their efforts on growing Arizona’s tourism industry.
Sinema is a cosponsor of Brand USA Extension Act, which promotes the United States as a premier travel destination.
“Tourism fuels Arizona jobs, and renewing Brand USA represents a critical step in continuing to strengthen Arizona’s economy,” said Sinema , a member of the Senate Commerce Committee.
Brand USA was established in 2009 by the Travel Promotion Act as a public-private partnership to promote the U.S. for traveling. Sources say Sinema recently supported to reauthorize Brand USA for eight years in the 113th Congress.
According to the Arizona Office of Tourism, 45.5 million people visited Arizona in 2018 and spent $24.4 billion in the state.
