San Luis Police seize 1.2 million dollars worth of drugs

The San Luis Police Department ( SLPD ) conducted a traffic stop Saturday morning and seized 1.2 million dollars worth of drugs.

The traffic stop was conducted on a white 2016 Toyota Corolla by Los Oros Street and Main Street. The driver of the vehicle was identified by officers to be an 18-year-old female from Calexico .

A K-9 Unit notified authorities of drugs in the vehicle. The drugs were said to be found in various compartments of the vehicle all wrapped in vacuumed seal plastic bags. SLPD say they discovered a total of 68.04 pounds of meth with a street value of over 1.2 million dollars.

San Luis officers say they were working as part of Operation Stone Garden, in support of border security.
