Senior Companion Program recruiting volunteers in desert southwest
For the growing elderly population in Yuma, it becomes more and more difficult to stay healthy and active— especially if they’re homebound.
The Senior Corps, in partnership with the Western Arizona Council of Governments and NAU’s Civic Service Institute, is bringing the nationally recognized Senior Companion Program to Yuma. The program aims to increase senior happiness and independence.
Volunteers are not to be mistaken for caregivers, as they only offer non-medical assistance to older adults.
