A man who had an active warrant for two counts of raping a child and aggravated sexual abuse of a child was arrested by U.S. Border Patrol agents near Nogales on July 10.

According to agents, the 30-year-old Mexican man was present in the U.S. illegally. During processing, agents learned the man had a warrant from the Sheriff’s Office in Spanish Fork, UT.

Agents said the man will be extradited back to Utah to face charges for his alleged crimes and will be processed for immigration removal after state charges are adjudicated.
