Crossroads Mission completes the ‘Ark’
Crossroads Mission has completed its warehouse in light of achieving more success throughout the Yuma community.
Myra Garlit, the executive director, says they have been in need of space for many years and the name behind it all has a special meaning.
“Cesar, the treatment director and I were walking outside one night and I looked at the building going up and I said look it looks like an ark, and he said yeah it looks like the ark,” said Garlit.
The ‘Ark’ was no mistake and Garlit believes in no mistakes, especially when it comes to the community and how they can help.
” It’s just right there for our food and the things that are going on with our activities with our clients, we’ve got sleeping bags in there and we’ll have a lot of other things in there. We don’t have a lot moved in there yet but we’re working on it,” said Garlit.
This could not have been done without the community and Garlit believes it is the start of something great.
“We’re happy, I think some people were shocked and were like what was that about, but it’s about what we believe in and the blessings from God,” said Garlit.
